LEARN FROM WILD HORSES

Wild horse research for a more horse orientated handling, natural communication & close to nature husbandry.

There are many misunderstandings involved when dealing with our horses. The reason for this is that their natural behavior is still largely unknown or misinterpreted.

In my "Expedition Horse" project I research the similarities as well as the varieties between wild herds in different areas of the world. Since 2012 I have been spending six months a year between wild horses as an animal filmmaker doing a very intimate research their behavior. Over the years, I have discovered a way to join herds of wild horses. This gives us for the first time the opportunity to get intimate and comprehensive insight into their family life.

In my documentaries, educational films and tutorials, I report on my findings on herd structures and hierarchy, social behavior and eating habits, body language and communication.

MARC LUBETZKI

cameraman | speaker | author

Cameraman

As a wildlife cameraman, Marc spends six months a year among wild horses. Recording all the material in a very natural way is on of his top priorities.

Speaker

He is silent between wild horses. But being together with people, Marc likes to talk about horses as a speaker or narrator in German films, in podcasts or at lectures.

Author

Taking a lot of notes during his time between the wild horses is also a main part. Out of these writings Marc creates texts for films, magazines and his book finally appeared in Germany in 2019.

“HOME IS WHERE HORSES ARE.”

Marc achieved something unprecedented:
He was invited into herds of wild horses! A big advantage: Instead of standing on the sidelines as an external observer and constantly worrying the horses, he can now observe them as an accepted member - being a part of the horses` natural everyday activities without disturbing or irritating them. With this level of intergration, the horses do not sense his presence as a threat even in very intimate and sensitive situations such as the birth of a foal.

Over the years he has been able to take spectacular shots and make astonishing observations, opin up a new world of insight into the true nature of horses with their needs, friendships, social structures, hierarchies, eating habits and behaviors.
